I don’t even know how I came across these necklaces, but they are fabulous. I want to get this one for my cousin, since her last name is Hussey. Beck, if you read this, let me know if you’re interested! Anyway, just so you know some of these necklaces contain mature content; I’m just putting that out there so I don’t get yelled at.

If you are in the area you should definitely check out the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. This weekend the trees will be in peak bloom! It’s a gorgeous view, a relaxing day with plenty of picture taking opportunities, and it’s a great place to spend time with people that you love! Plus, there are plenty of other activities going on as well.

MERMAID by Marco Recuero

My friend Greg is the best at sighting mermaids for me. Everytime he sends me an email he attaches an awesome mermaid picture. Here is one he found doing research at work. Recuero is an artist who makes typographic illustrations. Simply awesome!

Well, I’ve worked on plenty of murals with Nancy but this is the first one I did all by myself. (I know I sound like a little kid here, but it’s kind of a big deal). And it just so happens to be my first nephew’s room! Well, he’s Max’s nephew, but I think it’s safe to say he’s mine too.

Anyway, Ailis (Max’s sister) wanted the nursery to be an underwater theme. She gave me some ideas of the fish she saw while snorkeling on her honeymoon in Hawaii and told me to just go to town. I had so much fun!

I’ve listened and liked Radiohead before, but after the Grammy’s I just had to go get their new cd, In Rainbows. 15 Step is still my fav, but you can listen to all the songs at last fm.

i’ve figured out my jewelry type…

I’ve never been one for the jewelry in the mainstream jewelry stores. Then again, when have I ever been a mainstream kind if girl? Anyway, the diamond necklaces and pearl earrings were never something I wanted from Max (or anyone else who would think of getting me jewelry) as a gift to take my breath away. And I never really knew what I would want instead of something like that. But I think I’ve finally found it.

I can across Draugsvold Jewelry while scanning my favorite blogs. I LOVE their work. It’s unique and absolutely beautiful. All pieces are hand crafted and one-of-a-kind. Included in their work are vintage pieces, gems, and brass, which some have an intriquite brass stamping method. I just love it!

Pirate Valentine’s

Last weekend I had the best time at the Capodanno birthday party. Melissa came with, and we face painted and tatooed little buckaneers! The pirate theme was everywhere; they made a kid size ship out of cardboard and took my suggestion of making a wheel so the kids could feel like they were manning the boat, the cake was a decked out treasure chest, and I even got to lead the kids on a treasure hunt that went all through the house. I thought it was awesome, so the kids must have been in heaven.

For face painting we had sharks, treasure chests, mustaches, skulls and cross bones, and of course mermaids!

If you know anyone who needs a face painter for a party, let me know! I’m thinking of making it my career… haha… but seriously I would.
